March 31, (THEWILL) – Vincent Kompany, the current manager of Championship side, Burnley, is reportedly being considered by Tottenham Hotspur, as their next manager.
The former Manchester City captain has caught the attention of Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, with his impressive work in his debut season at Turf Moor, where he has led his side to the top of the second tier of English football and on the brink of promotion to the English Premier League.
While leading Burnley to promotion, Kompany has implemented an exciting brand of football that has drawn admiration from Levy. As THEWILL reported, Spurs are on the lookout for a new manager after Antonio Conte’s departure from the club a week ago.
Kompany is now among the names being considered by officials at the north London club, who are currently putting together a shortlist of candidates. Other managers in the running include one of their former managers, Mauricio Pochettino, former Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Marco Silva, and Thomas Frank.
Kompany’s Burnley side are 16 points clear of third place in the Championship and are set to confirm their automatic promotion to the EPL in the coming weeks.
