May 22, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League final at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, ending their 17-year wait for silverware and earning qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The victory is Spurs’ first trophy since the 2008 League Cup and their first European honour in 41 years. Both teams struggled to produce quality football in the opening exchanges, with only one shot on target recorded in the first 30 minutes of play.

The victory confirms Tottenham’s return to Europe’s premier competition for the 2025/2026 season after missing out on UCL football this campaign.
