June 12, (THEWILL) – Thomas Frank has taken charge at Tottenham Hotspur, stepping in after the club abruptly dismissed Ange Postecoglou. The Australian coach led Spurs to UEFA Europa League success, but club leadership deemed the team’s poor English Premier League finish a failure that could not be overlooked.
Frank arrives from Brentford, where he progressed from assistant to head coach and established the club in the top flight after their promotion. His appointment followed protracted discussions involving the composition of his backroom staff, and he has now signed a contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium running until 2028.
Tottenham described Frank in a club statement as “one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game” and praised his past work in player development and squad management.
