March 01, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur scout, Jeff Vetere, has resigned from his position after revealing a potential transfer target during a TV interview.
In the interview with Win Sports TV in Colombia, Vetere identified Nacional goalkeeper, Kevin Mier, as someone that Spurs were keeping a close eye on. He praised the youngster for his abilities and predicted that he would soon play for his national team.
Following the interview, Tottenham conducted a review of Vetere’s conduct and his probationary period was under review. However, the 57-year-old chose to resign before the process was complete. It was widely expected that he would have been dismissed anyway, as several people in the Tottenham hierarchy were unhappy with his appointment.
Vetere had only been appointed in September 2022 by the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici. The experienced scout had previously worked for several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid and Newcastle.
