Spurs

September 15, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur players Eric Dier and Heung-min Son will be unavailable when they commence their campaign in the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League against Rennes.

The two players are recovering from injuries and will not be available for selection on Thursday.

Son suffered a calf strain while on international duty earlier this month. Meanwhile, Dier picked up a dead leg in their 3-nil loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, after colliding with Palace’s Jordan Ayew in the 12th minute. The impact forced him off, making him a doubt for the Europa Conference tie and the EPL game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Also unavoidably missing from Nuno’s side is Tottenham’s South American trio of Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentines, Lo Celso and Romero, and the Colombian, Sanchez, are all training in Croatia to avoid quarantining in the UK after international duty.

Therefore, they will not join in the Thursday night clash with Rennes. Hopefully, they would be able to feature against Chelsea as they will return to the UK on Saturday ahead of the Sunday EPL fixture at home.
