SAN FRANCISCO, January 28, (THEWILL) – The police Monday sealed off the office of Justice Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), just three days after his controversial ouster by President Muhammadu Buhari and the swearing in
Of Justice Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN, pending the determination of the case against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
The Chief Justice is accused of false assets declaration after some undeclared bank accounts were allegedly traced to him with cash way above his pay.
Awusam Bassey, Onnoghen’s spokesman confirmed the ejection of staff and sealing off of the office.
The NJC, the body of senior justices is meeting Tuesday to deliberate on the controversial sack of the CJN.
