June 08, (THEWILL) – Luis Suarez is reportedly poised to make a momentous move to Major League Soccer side, Inter Miami.
This news comes hot on the heels of the confirmation that Lionel Messi, Suarez’s former teammate at Barcelona, will also be joining the MLS team this summer. Adding to the excitement, Messi will be reunited with another close friend and former Barcelona teammate, Sergio Busquets.
Messi’s transfer to Inter Miami marks his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, where he had let his contract run down. Similarly, Busquets joins the club as a free agent after bidding farewell to Barcelona at the close of the 2022/2023 European season. Now, Suarez, the veteran Uruguayan star, will be joining the MLS outfit as part of their ambitious rebuilding process.
While Suarez has been plying his trade with Brazil’s Gremio since 2022, following a spell with Nacional in his homeland, he remains under contract with Gremio until 2024.
