January 06, (THEWILL) – On Friday, Nigeria will play Coton Sport, champions of the Cameroonian top-flight division, in a friendly match that will take place behind closed doors in the Roumde Adjia Stadium’s practice ground.
The Super Eagles’ preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations have been heavily criticised. As the three-time African champions look to improve on their third-place result in the last edition, there has been a perception of laxity from the team announcement to camping.
Super Eagles’ players and coaches have already arrived in Garoua for the event, but have yet to participate in a single warm-up game and Nigeria’s first AFCON group game will be against Egypt at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on Tuesday.
Following that, Nigeria will play Sudan and Guinea-Bissau on January 15 and 19, respectively, to complete the first round Group D matchups.
