February 15, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s women’s football team, the Super Falcons, have arrived in Leon, State of Guanajuato, Mexico to take part in the four-nation women’s Revelation Cup tournament.

The tournament aims to help the participating teams, which include hosts Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia, prepare for the ninth FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand, this summer. All four teams are heading down under for the highly anticipated event.

The Super Falcons will play their first game of the tournament against hosts Mexico on Wednesday, at 11 pm local time, followed by Costa Rica versus Colombia. On Saturday, the Falcons will play against Colombia at 8 pm local time, and later, Costa Rica will play against Mexico. Nigeria will face Costa Rica, their last opponents, on February 21, before the curtain is drawn on the tournament with a game between hosts, Mexico and Colombia.

The Super Falcons have their sights set on the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup finals where they will be up against co-hosts Australia, Olympic champions Canada, and debutante, the Republic of Ireland. The team, led by Asisat Oshoala, boasts a talented mix of players based in France, Spain, the United States, and other countries.

The Super Falcons have won the African Cup of Nations nine times, and fans are eager to see how they will perform on the world stage after the disappointment of the last AFCON.
