SWAN Backs Alia On Cordial Relationship With Deputy, Press For Funding of Lobi Stars FC

April 29, (THEWILL)_ The Benue State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has praised the cordial working relationship between Governor Hyacinth Alia and his Deputy, Dr Sam Ode, who doubles as the Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi and urged its sustenance.

Arising from its monthly Congress meeting in Makurdi, the Association expressed worry over the bad state of the Aper Aku Township Stadium, a situation which has caused Lobi Stars Football club to play their home matches for two seasons away from Makurdi, the state capital, thereby, denying the state revenue and football fans from watching the ‘Yes Fada boys’ play at the stadium.

In a Communique signed by the Chairman, John Shiaondo and Secretary, Tamenor Kwaghzer, the members of the association also urged.

The communique noted that the stepping up of sponsorship for Lobi Stars will enable the club to maintain the good performance it has displayed in the current NPFL season.

The association commended the Vice Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer, Dominic Iorfa, management, technical crew and players of the club for the scintillating conduct/performance that has put Lobi on the front burner in the ongoing NPFL season.

On the unity and progress of SWAN, members resolved to work as one family for development of sports in the state.

SWAN commended Governor Alia for the prompt and consistent payment of salaries to civil servants and also applauded him for the decision to commence payment of the salary arrears of workers. In the state.
