August 30, (THEWILL) – Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo emerged victorious in the 100m sprint at the Diamond League meeting in Rome on Friday.
The 21-year-old Olympic 200m champion crossed the finish line in 9.87 seconds, comfortably beating Christian Coleman and Fred Kerley. The event, held at the Stadio Olimpico, featured a strong field of athletes. Despite high expectations, no world records were broken on the night.
Faith Kipyegon of Kenya won the 1500m in 3:52.89, while Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi narrowly missed setting a new world record in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.
