March 18, (THEWILL) – Scott McTominay’s injury has compounded Manchester United’s ongoing injury crisis ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham on Sunday, as revealed by manager, Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils are hoping to secure their first domestic win since the round five against West Ham. They have suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat to Liverpool and drew 0-0 with 20th-placed Southampton in the English Premier League in the past two weeks.

Despite their recent setbacks, the club has progressed to the last eight of the UEFA Europa League, beating Real Betis 4-1 at Old Trafford and 1-0 away in Spain earlier this week. However, many were surprised when McTominay was not brought on from the bench, and Ten Hag confirmed that the player was not in top condition.

He stated: “We have to see how that will progress in the coming hours and days.” If McTominay is unable to play against Fulham, United will have only two fit central midfielders – Marcel Sabitzer and Fred. Bruno Fernandes may play a more defensive role, similar to the one he played in the draw with Southampton last week.

Ten Hag’s squad must overcome this latest injury crisis if they hope to progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
