September 16, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of five executive directors to the board of the North Central Development Commission.
The commission was established in February 2025 after the president signed the North Central Development Commission Bill into law.
It covers Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau States, and the Federal Capital Territory, with a mandate to drive infrastructure development, tackle ecological challenges, and promote economic growth across the North-Central region.
A statement on Tuesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, said the directors will support the commission in actualising its statutory mandate.
The appointees are Biliquis Sanni, Executive Director of Administration and Human Resources; Aisha Ibrahim, Executive Director of Commercial and Industrial Development; James Uloko, Executive Director of Corporate Services; Muhammad Bashar, Executive Director of Finance; and Atika Ajanah, Executive Director of Projects.
Tinubu urged the new executive directors to work closely with the commission’s governing board in “promoting and coordinating the sustainable development” of the North-Central zone.
