May 05, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur has announced an exciting new double-header football games for its supporters at their home stadium.
The club’s women’s team will face Reading in the Women’s Super League (WSL) immediately after the men’s final home game of the season against Brentford on May 20th. The two games will be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and fans who attend the men’s match will be able to stay on for the women’s game, which kicks off later in the afternoon.
The club statement read, “All tickets for the Premier League fixture will now be inclusive of the WSL fixture, giving regular followers of our Men’s team a fantastic opportunity to make a day of it at the stadium and show their support for Spurs Women in what is set to be a crucial match in the fight for top-flight survival.”
The upcoming match against Reading will be a crucial game for Tottenham’s women’s team, who have had a difficult season, picking up just four wins from their 19 games to date. They are currently ninth in the WSL and just three points off the bottom of the table, which is currently occupied by Reading.
Interim Spurs boss Vicky Jepson has vowed to stick by her group, saying, “I am here as long as the club want me here, but I am not going anywhere from the girls’ point of view. I am with them through thick and thin… I’ll give 110 per cent, just as the girls will, and we’ll battle right until the very end. Hopefully, that is enough to keep us in the WSL.” Tottenham’s next game will be against title-chasing Manchester United this Sunday in the WSL.
