Tough UEFA Nations League Draw For England, Italy

December 16, (THEWILL) – In a rematch of the Euro 2020 final, England and Italy will meet in the 2022/2023 Nations League. The two teams were drawn together with Germany and Hungary in Group A3.

Wales, who have been placed in Group A4 alongside Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland, will hope to put in another strong performance.

In the meantime, defending champions France have arguably the easiest group, though Austria, Croatia, and Denmark will be hoping to prevent them from reaching the finals for the second year in a row.

In Group A2, Iberian rivals Portugal and Spain are joined by the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

Because the 2022 World Cup will be hosted in Qatar during the winter, four of each group’s matches will be played in June, with the remaining fixtures to be played in September.

The results will determine whether a team finishes first in their group and therefore advances to the competition’s finals, which will begin on June 14, 2023.

It will be the competition’s third edition, with France following in the footsteps of the first champion, Portugal.
