May 29, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Under-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, are set to face the formidable Argentina U20 squad in the Round of 16 at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The match will be held at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with kick-off scheduled for 10pm Nigerian time. Securing their place in the Round of 16 as one of the third-best-placed teams, Nigeria finished behind Brazil and Italy in Group D.

As THEWILL has, so far, recorded, Ladan Bosso’s boys began their campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Dominican Republic, followed by a convincing 2-0 win against Italy, which propelled them to the top of the group. However, their momentum was halted as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday, causing them to slip down to third place, while Italy handed the Dominican Republic a resounding 3-0 loss.
