November 05, (THEWILL) – AC Milan suffered a humiliating 1-0 home defeat to struggling Udinese on Saturday, sparking crisis talks for manager Stefano Pioli. Roberto Pereyra scored the winner from the penalty spot after Festy Ebosele was fouled by Yacine Adli.
The loss leaves Milan in crisis after recent defeats to Juventus and PSG and a draw against Napoli. Injuries have also piled up, with Pierre Kalulu ruled out for four months and several other key players sidelined. In the closing stages, Milan threw everything forward but could not find an equaliser. Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao and Alessandro Florenzi all came close but Udinese held on for a famous victory.
The defeat leaves Milan six points behind leaders Inter after 11 games. Pioli is now under huge pressure with fans calling for improvements. The owners have crisis talks planned for next week to discuss Pioli’s future.
