Sources monitored by THEWILL have revealed that UEFA will review the reports before taking any further steps. Mourinho had expressed his criticism of Taylor during the post-match press conference, which took place after Roma’s penalty shoot-out loss to Sevilla in Budapest, on Wednesday night.
In a video that later surfaced on social media, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager can be seen gesturing towards Taylor and other officials in the stadium car park, audibly stating his discontent with the situation.
During the match itself, Taylor issued a yellow card to Mourinho. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time, with Sevilla emerging victorious in a 4-1 penalty shoot-out, securing their seventh Europa League triumph. The final was marred by intense emotions, both on and off the pitch, as demonstrated by the issuance of 13 yellow cards, seven of which were shown to Roma players.
The fourth official, Michael Oliver, faced the challenging task of maintaining control over both dug-outs to keep the frayed nerves from degenerating further and escalating into an all-out brawl.
