Lukaku Injury To Keep Him From Milan Derby, Inter's Early UCL Matches

March 18, (THEWILL) – Chelsea are reportedly looking to offload Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan.

Lukaku has failed to live up to expectations this season, struggling with injury and poor form. Inter have also confirmed that they will not be keeping Lukaku beyond the end of the season, leaving the future of the 29-year-old up in the air.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has stated that Lukaku will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell, and while Lukaku’s future with the Blues is uncertain, reports suggest that Chelsea are looking to cut their losses, following his £97.5 million transfer in August 2021.

There are sparse indications that Real Madrid are keen to sign the striker and could make an offer for him in the upcoming transfer window. Still, Lukaku’s future remains uncertain, even if it seems all the more likely that he will not be staying with Inter Milan beyond this season.

Whether or not he returns to Chelsea or finds a new home elsewhere remains to be seen, but it is clear that the Belgian international’s time in Italy has not gone according to plan.
