April 28, (THEWILL) – Villarreal’s Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is facing an uncertain end of the season following an ankle injury that he sustained in their recent 4-2 win over Espanyol.
Chukwueze’s historic 200th appearance for the club was marked by the injury, which has left the team concerned about his fitness, just after he became the club’s youngest player to reach the 200th-match milestone at just 22.
The fleet-footed player has been a key part of Villarreal’s progress this season, with Quique Setien relying on him for some of their best performances. Chukwueze has scored six goals and provided five assists in Spanish La Liga, making him one of the standout performers for the club.
