February 08, (THEWILL) – Juventus defeated Salernitana 3-0 in Serie A with two goals and one assist from Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic scored a penalty in the 28th minute to start the visiting Bianconeri on their way and added his second goal after 47 minutes. The Serbia international also assisted compatriot, Filip Kostic, on the stroke of half-time.

Vlahovic’s successful performance against Salernitana continued his hot streak, as he has now scored five goals in four league matches against them. Meanwhile, Juventus will be hoping for a positive update on the injury of promising young midfielder, Fabio Miretti, who suffered a lower-leg injury in a tackle with Boulaye Dia.

Juventus’ Manager, Massimiliano Allegri, had expressed concern after the team suffered a 5-1 defeat by Napoli and a 2-0 loss to Monza in their previous three league games, with a 3-3 draw with Atalanta in between. With Juventus docked 15 points following an investigation into past transfer dealings, Allegri warned the Bianconeri they must first hit the 40-point mark to stave off an unlikely relegation.

The team took a step in the right direction with this victory and are now 10th on 26 points, though they still trail Italy’s top six by 12. Juventus will play Fiorentina at home on Sunday, while Salernitana visits Hellas Verona the following day.
