May 24, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s U-20 girls’ football team, the Falconets, continued their winning streak in the WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup of Nations with a 6-0 victory over Togo, on Wednesday.

The Falconets dominated the match from start to finish and showed their attacking prowess, especially with their clinical finishing in front of goal and their solid defending at the back. Braces from Amina Bello and Flourish Sabastine made up the lion’s share of the result but Esther Chinemerem and Opeyemi Ajakaye added their names to the scoresheet.

The Falconets started the match brightly and took the lead in the 11th minute through Bello. Sabastine doubled the lead in the 12th minute and Chinemerem made it 3-0 soon after. The Falconets continued to dominate the match and Bello scored her second goal in the 57th minute to make it 4-0. Sabastine completed her brace in the 76th minute and Ajakaye scored in the 59th minute to seal the victory.

The win puts the Falconets in a strong position to qualify for the next round of the competition. They will next face Burkina Faso in their final group match on Tuesday. A win in that match will guarantee them a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
