SAN FRANCISCO, June 24, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike, has sacked all members of the State Executive Council.
This was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu.
He stated that all the sacked commissioners should immediately handover to their respectice Permanent secretaries.
According to the statement, “Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has dissolved the State Executive Council.
“The governor directed all former commissioners to handover to their respective Permanent Secretaries.”
Wike thanked the former commissioners for their service to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours,” it read.
The announcement is coming a day after the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Austin Tam George, resigned.
THEWILL recalls that George’s resignation had followed the decision of Governor Wike to sack the Commissioner of Works, Mr Bathuel Harrison on Thursday.
