SAN FEANCISCO, May 24, (THEWILL) – Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has declared that it is only the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that can rescue Nigeria from the quagmire that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has plunged it.
Wike, who also expressed his support for the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party, stated that no amount of intimidation will make him withdraw support for the faction.
Speaking on Tuesday night after the premiere of the Stage Adaptation of Elechi Amadi’s ‘Concubine’ in Port Harcourt, the governor assured that the PDP would restore the country to the path of growth.
“The PDP is the only political party that can bring Nigeria out of its quagmire. Nobody can intimidate us. No amount of machine guns can change us. When we take a position, we stand by it.
“I am supporting Makarfi-led PDP National Caretaker Committee totally because they mean well for the party,” he said.
