April 03, (THEWILL) – Golf fans are buzzing with excitement with the expectation to see Tiger Woods, who has arrived at the Augusta National Golf Club, for the 2023 Masters.
This marks Woods’ return to competitive golf since the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, last February. The 15-time major champion has been struggling with his health and fatigue but is determined to play in all four major championships this season.
“My goal each and every year from here going forward is to play in all the majors,” said Woods in a recent interview. “That’s gonna be my schedule going forward because of all the limitations I have.”
Woods has won the Masters five times, the most recent being in 2019. In 2022, he made a successful comeback at the Masters, defying all odds after a devastating car accident. Despite his injuries, he not only played but also made the cut.
This year, he hopes to build on his success and make a strong comeback. After Woods arrived at Augusta National on Sunday, he was spotted practising at the course in preparation for the tournament. He is expected to play short practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday when the course will be open to the media. The Masters begins on Thursday, and Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion.
