March 15, (THEWILL) – The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), is mourning the passing of Scott Hall, alias Razor Ramon, an American wrestling legend, who died on March 14, 2022, at the age of 63.
Hall, who had been on life support for a few days, finally passed away after a life of fame in the wrestling game.
The WWE shared a tweet to announce their grief: “WWE is saddened to learn that two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Scott Hall, has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Hall’s family, friends and fans.”
Sean Waltman, also known as X-Pac, a fellow hall of famer and close friend, verified Ramon’s death. Waltman tweeted the sad news in a brief post: “He’s gone.”
On March 12, Hall reportedly experienced three heart attacks and was being treated at a Georgia medical facility. According to PWTorch, he had hip surgery last week, but then suffered a significant setback when a blood clot became loose.
Doctors would turn off life support once Hall’s family was with him, according to Kevin Nash, who was a member of the New World Order with Hall.
Nash said: “I’m going to lose the one person on this planet I’ve spent more of my life with than anyone else. My heart is broken and I’m so f**king sad.”
Given his role in popularising the sport in the 1990s, Hall’s death is unquestionably the end of an era. He was, however, well-known much before that.
Hall began his professional wrestling career in 1984, with the National Wrestling Alliance, then went on to World Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation in the 1990s to build a name for himself.
Hall was born on October 20, 1958, in Maryland, and grew up in a military family that moved around a lot. In Munich, Germany, in one of their several travels, he attended high school.
His drug and alcohol problems were included in a WCW storyline, but he also blamed them for a number of arrests during his nearly 30-year career. Through the regional territory structure, Hall also worked for Jim Crockett Promotions, the AWA, and other organisations.
In 1992, he joined the WWE (then the World Wrestling Federation, the WWF), where he gained national fame as Razor Ramon, a “bad guy” Cuban character based on Al Pacino’s part in “Scarface.”
Along with Kevin Nash and famous star Hulk Hogan, he was a member of the New World Order faction. Under the name Razor Ramon, the superstar was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.
Hogan said Hall made being the bad guy “cool” in his pre-induction video.
