August 21, (THEWILL) – A young Nigerian footballer, Paul Julius, has lost his life in a car accident in Cyprus. The 24-year-old striker had recently joined the Cypriot club. Enosis Neon Paralimniou, but his promising career was cut short in a head-on collision on the Paralimni-Protaras road.

Julius had only been with the club for three weeks, having previously played for Egyptian side, El Gaish. The club expressed their profound sorrow over the untimely death of the young talent, highlighting his ambition and potential.

“Paul has been an impeccable young, great footballer with high goals and ambitions,” the club’s statement read. “Paul, you will always be remembered and in our hearts, even though the days you were with us were few.”

Enosis Neon Paralimniou announced that the club’s flag will wave at large for three days in memory of Julius, and the team will wear black armbands in their next official match, with a moment of silence observed at the beginning.

The club expressed their gratitude for the messages of sympathy and condolences received, stating that their only thought is with the footballer’s family during this difficult time.
