December 12, (THEWILL) – Leicester beat Newcastle 4-0 thanks to two goals from Youri Tielemans and one each from Patson Daka and James Maddison to compound the dire circumstances of the EPL’s new moneybags.

Jonny Evans was forced off early with a hamstring injury, but Leicester were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute as Jamaal Lascelles tripped over James Maddison in the box.

Tielemans put the hosts ahead with his first goal of the season, a penalty kick that he smashed into the top corner to break the stalemate and give the hosts some breathing space and confidence.

Newcastle threatened on the counter-attack, which seemed to be promising except that it lacked clinical finishing which the visitora regretted as a wonderful team goal doubled the Foxes’ lead in the 57th minute.

Maddison found Harvey Barnes with a beautiful flick before he unselfishly squared for Daka to tap into the empty net to the excitement of the home fans.

Despite the visitors efforts to get back into the game, Tielemans added another goal in the 81st minute. Maddison found the Belgian international, who hammered a close-range drive into the net for his second goal of the game.

Leicester added to Newcastle’s agony four minutes later when Maddison scored a beautiful left-footed goal to seal the victory.

As a result of the win, the Foxes are now in ninth place with 22 points while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are still in 19th place on 10 points.
