October 26 (THEWILL) – Teenager Warren Zaire-Emery registered two assists as Paris Saint-Germain bounced back from their 4-1 thrashing by Newcastle United with a convincing 3-0 UEFA Champions League victory over AC Milan on Wednesday night.
The French champions went into the game having suffered a humiliating defeat at St James’ Park in their last UCL match. However, goals from Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in ensured PSG got their European campaign back on track with a vital win in Group F.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after being set up by the impressive 17-year-old Zaire-Emery. Kolo Muani doubled PSG’s lead early in the second half following good work from Ousmane Dembele, whose goal was struck out by VAR. Zaire-Emery was again the provider late on, teeing up substitute Lee to wrap up a comfortable victory.
The result moves PSG top of the group on 6 points after two games, following Newcastle’s home defeat to Borussia Dortmund. Bottom side AC Milan have taken just two points from their opening matches.
The two sides meet again in Italy in a fortnight, with PSG now looking in a strong position to progress to the knockout stage after this statement performance in Paris.
