Former First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Emmanuella Fashola and her siblings pulled all the stops this past weekend and hosted close friends and well-wishers as they bade a final farewell to their late mother in style.

The late matriarch of the Dibofu family, Mama Edith, otherwise known as Iya Aladura, passed on in June at the age of 87. She was laid to rest in Lagos after a funeral service that took place at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba. A wake and evening of tributes was earlier held on Thursday preceding the funeral at the family house located somewhere in Surulere. The immediate-past Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, was fully on ground to give maximum support to his wife and her family.

Surprisingly, only a handful of socialites and members of the political elite made it to the party which took place at Harbour Point, Victoria Island and coordinated by -Yewande Zaccheus’ Eventful Nigeria. Some of them include Folashade Okoya; former Lagos State deputy governor, Adejoke Adefulire-Orelope; former chairman of First bank of Nigeria, Ibukun Awosika; first lady of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, City of David parish, Pastor Mrs Siju Iluyomade.
