April 06, (THEWILL) — Afrobeats stars Adekunle Gold and Olamide are set to release their first-ever collaboration, Formation, on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
Gold shared the news on X:
“First time ever, me and @Olamide Formation. April 9.”
The track celebrates the long-standing relationship between the two artists. Olamide signed Adekunle Gold to his YBNL label in 2015, launching Gold’s debut album and even designing the label’s logo.
Gold credits Olamide for giving him his big break, saying he was given a chance when all he had was a dream and a voice, and was taken out of the country for the first time in his life.
Gold added in a statement:
“He helped shape my journey, and for the first time, we’ve made something special together. Formation is more than a song, it’s a legacy and brotherhood.
