March 23, (THEWILL) – Central African Republic (CAR) registered their first victory of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers by defeating Madagascar 3-0 in Antananarivo on Thursday.
The visitors were the most inspired during the game and dominated the early exchanges. Les Fauves were determined and shocked the home crowd at the Kianja Barea Mahamasina Stadium following a draw and a defeat in their opening two matches of the group.
France-based striker, Louis Mafouta, played a crucial role in securing the away victory for CAR. He scored a brace and doubled the score for Les Fauves nine minutes after attacking midfielder Isaac Ngoma stunned the home side by putting his side in the lead.

With three valuable points for Les Fauves, they jump to the third position with four points in Group E while Madagascar are at the bottom with just one point. The victory has put CAR in a good position to qualify for their second ever AFCON. They will face Angola next in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
