September 15, (THEWILL) — Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has made history again by setting a new Guinness World Record for cooking the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed the milestone:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The monumental feat was held on September 12, 2025, during a vibrant culinary showcase at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was a celebration of Nigerian cuisine and culture, drawing thousands of attendees and sparking widespread excitement across social media platforms.
Baci is no stranger to global recognition—she first gained international acclaim in 2023 when she broke the record for the longest cooking marathon, cementing her reputation as a prominent figure in the culinary world.
With this new record, Baci continues to elevate Nigerian cuisine on the world stage, turning jollof rice—a beloved West African dish—into a symbol of national pride and global recognition.
