SAN FRANCISCO, December 11, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s midfielder Ola Aina has won the Premier League goal of the month for November for his strike in Fulham’s 2-0 win over West Brom at Craven Cottage in London.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles star joined Fulham on a season-long loan from Serie A side Torino. His was the second goal in what was the Cottagers first league win of the season.
The right midfielder arrowed a left-footed thunderbolt from the edge of the box that left West Brom goalie, Sam Johnstone, helplessly sprawling.
The award comes at a tough time for Fulham in what has been an indifferent start to the season for Aina. After missing the first three league games, the former Chelsea star has featured for the entire duration in all of Fulham’s next eight league games.
Yet, Scott Parker’s side have just two wins to their name this season and are a single point above the relegation places.
Their situation is not helped by the fact that their next game is against the resurgent Premier League champions, Liverpool, who are currently exhibiting glimpses of the immaculate form that won them the League last term.
Hopefully, the award inspires Aina to replicate his performance in that Craven Cottage win that brought him this honour and inspire his side to a remarkable victory.
