April 13, (THEWILL) – Al Nassr have announced that they have parted ways with manager Rudi Garcia
, following rumours of frustration from Cristiano Ronaldo and are linked with attempts to seduce Jose Mourinho to take the job.
Garcia’s tenure at the club lasted only eight months, during which he struggled to get the best out of the Portuguese superstar. Ronaldo managed 11 goals in ten games under Garcia but his discontent with the manager’s tactics was evident.
“The board and everyone at AlNassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 8 months,” the club said in a statement.
It remains unclear who will replace Garcia at the helm of the team. However, rumours have already started that Mourinho could be a candidate for the job, with reports suggesting a big-money offer could be in the works.
The offer could include a route to coach the Saudi Arabian national team. Mourinho has previously expressed interest in transitioning to national team management and the lure of becoming the highest-paid manager on the planet could be tempting for the Portuguese coach.
Still, it remains to be seen whether Mourinho will accept the offer and imprint his unique style of play on the Saudi Pro League while also reuniting with his former striker Ronaldo from their days at the Santiago Bernabéu.
