July 22, (THEWILL) – Actress, Amber Heard, has finally filed an appeal to overturn the $10 million verdict in the defamation case brought against her by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
The actress filed to appeal the verdict recently, and this was confirmed by her team in documents they submitted on Thursday.
And this comes nearly two months after she was ordered to pay Depp more than $10 million in damages.
Recall that their nasty drama started after her 2018 Washington Post article, in which suggested she addressed herself as a domestic violence survivor.
While she didn’t mention Depp’s name, a Virginia jury agreed she had defamed Depp with false statements “made with actual malice.”
Now, she is appealing against that judgement.
