Applegate was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2021. Since then, she has spoken about the challenges of living with the condition, including pain, limited mobility, and frequent hospital visits.

The development comes shortly after her podcast, MeSsy, co-hosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, announced a short break as both hosts focus on book tours.

In March, Applegate released her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, where she shared details about her daily struggles with the illness.

Applegate is widely known for her roles in films such as “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy”, “The Sweetest Thing”, and “Bad Moms.”

Despite stepping back from on-screen roles, she has continued voice work and podcasting.
