
June 23, (THEWILL) — American actress and comedian Molly Shannon has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
The ceremony was held on Monday, June 22, 2026, on Hollywood Boulevard, where she was honoured for her work in television and comedy.
In her speech, Shannon spoke about her early years in Hollywood and the support she received from her late father. She said he encouraged her to return home if things became difficult, but she chose to stay and continue her career.
She also spoke about facing rejection in the entertainment industry and said the honour meant a lot after many years of effort and rejection.
Actor Will Ferrell and actress Connie Britton spoke at the event. Ferrell praised Shannon’s work on “Saturday Night Live”, saying she had a big impact on the show. Britton also spoke about Shannon’s talent and friendship.
Shannon was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1995 to 2001, where she became known for her character Mary Katherine Gallagher.
She has also appeared in films such as “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Never Been Kissed” and “Hotel Transylvania”, and in TV shows including “Divorce” and “Only Murders in the Building”.
She is the 2,850th person to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
