July 17, (THEWILL) — Veteran music supervisor for American Idol, Robin Kaye, and her husband, Thomas, were found dead in their Los Angeles home in a suspected double homicide that has shocked the entertainment industry.
The 70-year-old couple was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds during a police welfare check. Authorities have since arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian in connection with the killings.
According to investigators, Boodarian allegedly broke into the couple’s home on July 10 while they were away and waited inside for them to return. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
Kaye was a well-respected figure in television music supervision, with credits on Lip Sync Battle, The Singing Bee, and the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, in addition to her long-standing work with American Idol.
In a statement, American Idol paid tribute to Kaye:“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
The investigation is ongoing.
