May 16, (THEWILL) – American rapper, Freddie Ross Jr,. popularly known as Big Freedia, is grieving the loss of her partner of 20 years, Devon Hurst, who passed away May 15, due to complications from diabetes.
The rapper shared the sad news via a post on Instagram.
“I’m devastated to have to announce that today my partner of 20 years, Devon Hurst, passed away peacefully due to complications from diabetes, surrounded by his loving family”, she wrote
Big Freedia emphasised that while his loss leaves a profound void, the family finds comfort knowing he is “free from pain in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.”
Hurst is survived by his mother, siblings, children Zyrielle and Davone, and extended family.
She added that the family has requested prayers and privacy during this difficult time, noting that memorial service details will be shared later.
