March 30, (THEWILL) – On Wednesday, Spanish giants, Real Madrid, revealed that club manager, Carlo Ancelotti, returned a positive test for COVID-19.
“Our coach Carlo Ancelotti has tested positive for COVID-19,” the Real Madrid side said in a public statement.
Despite the new restrictions, which have been in effect since Monday and which remove the requirement of isolation for asymptomatic people, Ancelotti will isolate himself and is doubtful for Saturday’s encounter against Celta Vigo in Vigo.
When the international break ends on April 2, Real will return to play league fixture against Celta, before heading to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of their current European encounter against Chelsea on April 6.
THEWILL recalls that Ancelotti returned to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in June 2021 and agreed a contract until 2024. He had previously managed Real for two seasons between 2013 and 2015.
