June 12 (THEWILL) — Ariana Grande has spoken out after the White House used her 2024 hit song “Bye” in a social media video about immigration enforcement.
The TikTok video showed federal agents arresting and handcuffing people and was captioned: “Bye-bye, President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.”
Grande responded in the comments, writing: “Please do not use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.”
The audio was later removed from the video, and Grande’s comment was no longer visible on the post.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson defended the video, saying: “What’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”
Grande is the latest artist to object to the use of their music by Donald Trump or the White House.
In 2025, Sabrina Carpenter also criticized the White House after one of her songs was used in a video about immigration enforcement, saying her music should not be used to support what she described as an “inhumane agenda.”
Artists including ABBA, Céline Dion, Beyoncé, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Kenny Loggins have also opposed the use of their music in Trump-related content.
