Aug 03, (THEWILL) — Ariana Grande is set to take a break from public appearances after completing her “Eternal Sunshine Tour”, her representative has confirmed.

The singer’s team said she plans to “step back from visibility” after the tour ends on September 1, 2026, citing “endless, ongoing public scrutiny” surrounding her public-facing work.

She is expected to complete the final dates of the tour, including her upcoming London shows, before taking a break.

Her representative said Grande is looking forward to ending the tour “on a high note” and taking a much-needed break from the spotlight. The team added that the tour has been a meaningful experience for the singer and her fans.

Grande has also withdrawn from the upcoming London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical “Sunday in the Park with George”.

She was scheduled to star alongside her “Wicked” co-star Jonathan Bailey in the 2027 production at the Barbican.

Production company Empire Street Productions confirmed that the musical will continue without Grande and said it understands and supports her decision.

A replacement for her role has not yet been announced.

The announcement comes after renewed public discussion about Grande’s appearance following the release of her latest album “Petal” and its accompanying music video on July 31.

The singer has previously spoken about the challenges of being in the public eye and dealing with constant attention.

In a viral 2023 TikTok video, Grande addressed comments about her appearance and body, saying the version of herself that many people considered “healthy” was actually one of the most difficult periods of her life.

She revealed that she was struggling privately at the time and urged people to avoid making assumptions about others’ bodies or personal experiences.

The “Eternal Sunshine Tour” marks Grande’s return to major live performances after several years away from touring. She will conclude the tour with a 10-night run at London’s O2 Arena.

The planned break follows a major period in Grande’s career, including her critically acclaimed performance as Glinda in the “Wicked” films, continued success in music, and her renewed status as one of pop’s biggest global stars.
