April 22, (THEWILL) – In a dramatic English Premier League match on Friday night, Arsenal was held to a 3-3 draw by Southampton.
Two early errors gifted Southampton two goals in the first 15 minutes, but Arsenal fought back with admirable determination, with Gabriel Martinelli volleying home a response. The result means Arsenal’s grip on the EPL title slipped despite their best efforts to find a fourth goal. Although Arsenal responded admirably to Southampton’s early goals, they were unable to make their dominance count with both Saka and substitute, Leandro Trossard, hitting the woodwork.
The result leaves Arsenal needing to win their next match against Manchester City in midweek, while Southampton faces Bournemouth on Thursday.
