SAN FRANCISCO, November 28, (THEWILL) – The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, a known loyalist of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday met President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Alhassan had in September said she would support Atiku against Buhari if the former Vice-President expressed interest in the 2019 presidential election.
With Atiku’s resignation of his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, the Minister is being mentioned among those who may leave the party and join Atiku who is set to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
When approached by State House correspondents for her comment on Atiku’s exit as she left, the Minister declined comment.
She had met Buhari shortly after she and and some of her colleagues attended the inauguration of the Policy Framework and National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism at the Presidential Villa.
