November 18, (THEWILL) – The ATP Tour and Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) have confirmed a long-term commitment to host the ATP Finals in Turin until 2030, extending the initial agreement that was meant to conclude in 2025. The announcement comes following the triumphant victory of Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner at the 2024 tournament.
The prestigious year-end championship was remarkably successful in 2024, drawing more than 183,000 spectators across the eight-day competition. The tournament established a record prize pool of $15.25 million, with all 15 sessions operating at full capacity.
ATP chairman, Andrea Gaudenzi, stated: “The ATP Finals has firmly established its legacy in Italy as a premier global sporting event. Together with FITP, we aim to continue enhancing the experience for players and fans.”
The decision to maintain Turin as the host city follows an exceptional performance by world number one Jannik Sinner, who achieved a milestone by becoming the first Italian competitor to claim the ATP Finals title. Sinner clinched the victory with a commanding 6-4 6-4 win against American Taylor Fritz in the final match.
The extension of Turin’s hosting duties reinforces Italy’s position in professional tennis, building upon the tournament’s consistent growth since its relocation to the Mediterranean nation. The agreement ensures stability for the sport’s premier year-end competition through the remainder of the decade.
