November 14, (THEWILL) — An Australian man, Johnson Wen, has been charged with causing a public nuisance after grabbing American singer and actress, Ariana Grande, at the Singapore premiere of her new movie, Wicked: For Good.

In a now-viral video, Wen was seen jumping over a barricade and running up to Grande, placing his arm around her shoulders in an attempt to pose for a photo.

The singer appeared startled but did not immediately react. Security personnel, along with Grande’s Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo, quickly intervened and removed Wen from the area.

On Friday, November 14, the 26-year-old appeared via video in a Singapore district court and stated that he intended to plead guilty. His next court date is scheduled for November 17.

If sentenced, Wen could face up to three months in jail, a fine of S$2,000, approximately $1,500 U.S. or both.

Wen has a history of breaching security at celebrity events, frequently posting videos of himself disrupting concerts and red carpet events on his Instagram page.
