April 15, (THEWILL) – In recognition of the significance of the Easter Triduum to the Christian community in Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday, as work-free days for all civil servants.
The decision is to enable hardworking civil servants to participate fully in the sacred celebrations and observances of the Easter Triduum, which holds deep spiritual significance for Christians around the world.
In a statement in Makurdi on Tuesday, the Secretary to the Benue State Government, Deborah Serumun Aber, said that during these days, all government offices and ministries, departments, and agencies will be closed.
“We encourage all citizens to use this opportunity to reflect, recharge, and spend quality time with their loved ones”, it added.
The statement quotes the Governor as extending his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.
It called on all to emerge from this period of reflection and celebration rejuvenated and strengthened in our faith and service to humanity and a determination for a greater Benue.
