April 30, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye, recently confronted a group of men who disrupted her outdoor film shoot, demanding money from the production crew.
A video of the incident, shared by user @Usmanashafe on X, quickly went viral on Thursday. The exact location of the shoot is unclear.
In the video, some men are seen demanding a “settlement”, a common extortion tactic targeting film crews shooting in public areas.
Ademoye firmly rejected their demands.
“I am a street girl, let me tell you. Ask around, when it comes to matters of the street, I like settling boys. But you don’t come to me and tell me to give you a certain amount”, she said.
When one of the men claimed he wasn’t begging, she responded, “Yes, you came to beg. You are even being proud of it.”
The situation escalated when one of the men threatened to turn off her camera. Ademoye quickly shot back, “Camera that nobody in your generation has”.
Despite the confrontation, there were no physical altercations, and the filming continued, although briefly disrupted.
The incident highlights the ongoing issue of extortion on Nigerian film sets, particularly when shooting in public spaces.
