  • Fans around the world will be able to watch Bonnie Tyler’s celebration of life service live online. Her family has confirmed that the service will be streamed from St Mary’s Church in Swansea on August 17, giving fans everywhere a chance to pay their respects.

The Welsh singer’s family said the service will be held at St Mary’s Church in Swansea on August 17 and streamed live on her official website. Family and invited guests will attend the service, while fans in Swansea can watch on large screens outside the church.

After the service, the funeral procession will travel through Tyler’s hometown of Skewen, Neath Port Talbot.

On August 15, two days before the service, her coffin will be taken to her home in Mumbles. Fans have been invited to line Newton Road to pay their respects.

Tributes Continue for Welsh Music Icon

Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, died on July 8 at the age of 75. Her family said she died unexpectedly at a hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness she had been receiving treatment for.

The singer had been hospitalised after undergoing emergency intestinal surgery in May. She was placed in an induced coma before later regaining consciousness, although her spokesperson said she remained in intensive care and was still very unwell.

Following her death, tributes poured in from across the entertainment world.

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones said she was “heartbroken” by the loss of her fellow Welsh star.

Singer Sir Cliff Richard said he had lost “another wonderful friend gone too soon,” while the Prince of Wales called Tyler a “proud Welsh icon”.
